attempting to // drink less coffee and more herbal tea in the morning.  It's been a tough transition, let me tell you.

excited about // friendly faces visiting us for the whole weekend.

listening to // Tristan Prettyman.  I loved her music in college and have recently stumbled upon her again.  Even planning to go to her show at The Bluebird next month with this lady!

loving // this mauve skirt I picked up for 11 bucks, on sale of course.  It's the perfect length for work, and  stretchy and comfortable too.

hating // that I just barely miss the warm sunshine by the time I get home from work...  "warm, warm, warm, sun is going, going, cold."

looking forward to // chopping all my hair (again) today.  I just can't "grow it out", ever ever.  I wonder how many times it will take for me to realize I will forever have my hair in a ponytail if it's past my ears, haha.  I'm pretty pumped.

reading // a Real Simple magazine I received for Christmas.  Does it take anyone else forever to read through an entire magazine?

stumbled upon // Grumpy Cat

watching // Girls on HBO.  Though it's a little "risque" for my liking, I enjoy the characters and storyline a lot.

spending time // skiiiiiiing.  I haven't taken many pictures of our adventures, but I've skied even more than last year, and getting pretty good, I mean, sort of.  It's the one thing that makes Colorado winters bearable.. and really fun.

attempting to // pack, clean, shop, wrap, and cook before the upcoming holidays.

excited about // the many yoga opportunities I've found; a free class every Sunday night and a weekly class taught at my workplace too.  I feel like I'm getting stronger each time I see my mat.  It's a great feeling!

listening to // There's No Leaving Now by The Tallest Man on Earth

loving // all the Christmas cards that landed in our mailbox this week.  When I was little, my parents received so many cards from their friends and I thought it was the coolest thing.  Now, us kids are somehow adults, sending our own holiday cards to each other with photos, announcements, and well wishes.  It makes me smile.

hating // the news of Sandy Hook Elementary and the loss of so many young lives.  I still can't wrap my head around it, but I feel heartbroken and confused and very angry.

looking forward to // Christmastime with our family and friends in Oklahoma.  It's always good to go back home, to receive all those hugs you look forward to for the year and laugh till your belly hurts.

reading // the first book of yet another YA Trilogy, Birthmarked... surprise, surprise!

stumbled upon // a tutorial for painted wine glasses that I gifted to a friend for Christmas last night.  A pretty simple DIY that was definitely well received. Who doesn't want to drink wine out of confetti glasses?

watching // Homeland, I can't say it enough.  The season 2 finale on Sunday was WILD.  And word on the street is that you can catch up on both season for free On Demand between January 11-13.  Talk about a weekend marathon.

spending time // bundled up in front of our (electric) "fire" place with as many as layers on as possible.  It's cold, y'all!

attempting to // pick out fabric for my next project!  Decisions, decisions.

excited about // my dear friend and her little one coming to Denver to spend the whole weekend with us.

listening to // The Civil Wars, wishing they didn't have "internal discord and irreconcilable differences", because I'm dramatic like that.  Seriously, what?!

loving // the snow capped mountains I see on my way home from work.  It reminds me of the first time I saw them from our window shortly after we moved to Denver.  It was like Christmas.  Still is.

hating // yard work.  Now that we live in a house with a gigantic maple tree, we've been raking and raking and raking those fallen leaves.

looking forward to // Thanksgiving(!) x3.

reading // our next book club pick, Cloud Atlas.  It's a tough one to get through so far.  Though I'm excited to finish so I can go watch the film.

stumbled upon //  yet another Tumblr.

watching // the TV show, Homeland.  You should definitely check it out.  Well, if you like psych thrillers.  Super good!

spending time // in my flannel, curled up on the couch with a blanket and a cup (or two) of hot chocolate.  I've been pretty lazy at home lately, and it's been oh, so nice.

attempting to // bike everywhere.  We moved to a great little part of Denver that has shops and eateries just biking distance away.  And when we ride to Little Man Ice Cream, I don't feel so bad due to the exercise to and fro.  Ice cream and biking, It's a win-win, really.

excited about // Fall!  The leaves are changing, there's a crispness in the air; it's truly right around the corner, friends.

listening to // Sanders Bohlke.  His music goes hand in hand with the approaching fall season.  I have to dig out my old cd every year, I can't explain it really.

loving // this pleated, polka dot number from Dottie Adele.

hating // all the animosity in the world right now.  I just want everyone to forgive and love each other.  Sometimes it's almost too much to bear.

looking forward to // a trip to Oklahoma next weekend!

reading // Don't Breathe a Word, our Halloween book club pick.  I don't really do scary, so I just hope I can make it through without having to sleep with the lights on for a month.. or 3.

stumbled upon // the greatness that is Nutella.  Wow, just wow.

watching // Dance Academy on Netflix.  Recommended by a friend and I'm completely hooked.  You should go watch it too.

spending time // hammock laying in the backyard.  It doesn't get much better.

attempting to // make every Pinterest recipe I've pinned recently.  So far, so good.

excited about // handing back the keys to our apartment in just a few months.  The cat's out of the bag now, we finally found a house to rent in Denver!  With a yard, and a fire pit, and twinkle lights!  Can't wait to share photos soon.

listening to // The Lumineers, a local Denver band that I'm really liking these days.

loving // all the Downton ladies getting their dance on.  Yessssssss.

hating // the slow workdays.  The weather is getting nicer every day and I would love to be outside playing.

looking forward to // June!  Our dear friends Joey & Stacy are coming to visit, Bon Iver concert at Red Rocks, annual girl's trip with my favorites, Ryan's first 10k, and celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary.

reading // The Road by Cormac Mccarthy, our next book club read, very suspenseful so far.

stumbled upon // this tumblr. Go ahead, laugh a whole lot.

watching // Friday Night Lights on Netflix. I'm just now hopping on the bandwagon and loving every second of the ride.

spending time // on Skype and Google Video a lot lately, keeping up with our far-away friends and family.  5 years after purchasing a webcam and I'm finally comfortable talking/being in front of it.  Sort of.

attempting to // start running again with Zia.  She's thrilled.

excited about // roller-disco tonight!  Photos to come of course.

listening to // Of Monsters And Men a lot.

loving // new turban headbands from Dottie Adele.  Super cute, ya'll.

hating // that there is never enough time in the day to get everything done.  So lately I've been staying up way too late and going to work so very tired.  I've longed a bit for my college self again!  We were invincible back then.

looking forward to // Bon Iver at Red Rocks this summer (pre-sale tickets purchased!)

reading // Little bee by Chris Cleave.  So far, so very good.

stumbled upon // double dutch dog.

watching // Downton Abbey - Season Two.  Things are getting wild.

spending time // outdoors, laying on the grass, just soaking it all in. Mmm...

attempting to // drink a smoothie for breakfast instead of a cup of coffee.  Let's be real, the cup of coffee comes right after the smoothie, but it's not the very first thing I have in the morning anymore.

excited about // upcoming adventures this year!  We have a couple friends coming to visit next month and our annual girls' trip coming up soon after.

listening to // the Head and the Heart -- still.

loving // life.  I made a few challenges for myself this year; to tackle my worrying (aka stop it!), to live in the moment, and to be more accepting of others for who they are, not who I want them to be.  I feel a lot more relaxed these days.  And happier.

hating // how tired I am after work.  Where do you find the extra energy to work out, prepare dinner, or go out with friends?  Where?!

looking forward to // camping in the springtime. Doesn't the photo above look magical?

reading // a graphic novel called Habibi.  I've never read a graphic novel before, but I'm pretty sure it's just a fancy comic book.  I'll report back as soon as I'm finished.

stumbled upon // this video.  Now I want to record my every move in hopes that I could put together something half as cool as he did.  It's so simple, and incredibly beautiful at the same time.

watching // The Wonder Years (!) on Netflix, with Portlandia next in queue. I've heard great things about this show!

spending time // in the kitchen lately.  We whipped up a few recipes this week that turned out really good!

attempting to // sew... anything...  It's been far too long since my last project.  Hopefully I will get my mini sewing machine out this weekend for a little crafting session.

excited about // Christmas!  Too soon?

listening to // Everything by Lifehouse and remembering the moment in college at a praise & worship night when I heard the song in a whole new way; the meaning transformed from a love song about a boy to a song about my relationship with God.

loving // our new city!  Still.  There's just so much to do.

hating // the dark drive home from work.  Why is the sun gone already??

looking forward to // hitting the slopes this weekend!  I bought new skis a few months ago that are begging to get out of the garage.  Even though I've skied a handful of times in the past, I signed up for lessons this season and hope I will learn some new skills so the kiddos will stop passing me by on the mountain.  It's a little embarrassing.

reading // the 3rd book in the Jessica Darling Series by Megan McCafferty

stumbled upon // this blog a couple weeks ago.  It makes me laugh a whole bunch.

watching // the late 90s TV show, Felicity on Netflix (almost finished too, which makes me sad. it's sooo good)

spending time // on YouTube, watching the Hunger Games trailer over and over and over.  Get ready, friends.

loving // Harry Potter.. still...

hating // the little gray bugs that killed our zucchini plans, arrrg.

looking forward to // my mom visiting next week!

reading // a really engaging book titled Sarah's Key, which I just saw a movie preview for too.  Not that I'm complaining, but what is with all the books made into movies these days??

stumbled upon // paint chip art.  cheap? interesting? crafty?  yes, please.

watching // too much reality TV + the Kennedy's miniseries on Netflix.

spending time // in the pool as much as possible!
