Weekend: early morning brunch, halloween party, college football, & puzzles.

What an eclectic weekend we had!

We woke up really early to catch another REI Garage Sale, though unfortunately, we didn't wake quite early enough.  So, we walked down the street to Mona's, a favorite brunch spot of mine.  Mishap rewarded with delicious food, I'm quite okay with that.

I watched much more college football than ever desired.

Went to a fun Halloween party at this lovely lady's house, dressed as.... Suzy and Sam from Moonrise Kingdom!  Can you see the resemblance?  We were pretty excited about the idea.

And worked on a puzzle alllllll Sunday afternoon, it was so relaxing.  A great end to the weekend.

And then it snowed.

Fall, I really enjoyed the short time we spent together.
Until next year...

Weekend Trip to the Mountains

Road Trip!

They are my favorite.  Especially when I'm in charge of playing DJ in the car.  AND when I have my old iPod from college as our only music provider -- think old school Schuyler Fisk, Snow Patrol, Rilo Kiley, Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack... ah, the memories.

We met my parents in Montrose, CO, about 5 hours southwest of Denver.  My mom and I shopped in town, a lot, and went to the park with Zia.

Ryan climbed a mountain, of course.

It was a really fun and relaxing weekend spent.  Old school music and all.

Go vote! .. on some fabric!

You guys, I don't even know what I've been up to lately, but my time sure hasn't been spent on this little blog.  I'm sorry bloggy, I still love you, I really do.

Anyway, I haven't crafted in a really long time and I have a few free weekends ahead that I'd really like to whip something up -- such as a new yoga bag because I'm now going to class every week!  I love it!  And what's also very cool about this class is that it's biking distance from my house.

So instead of stuffing my yoga mat in a too-small backpack and riding down the street wondering if it's going to fall out, I'm going to whip up a little bag for it.  Now where you guys come in, I truly can't decide on a fabric!  Not even kidding at all.

Here are your choices:

Sundials
Raindrops & Poppies
Mind's Eye

Help!  Which fabric do you like best for a new yoga mat bag?

Oh, and Happy Friday :)

On the bookshelf: another YA series

The Maze Runner Series is definitely a set of young adult novels you should pick up and read.  So far, I've read the first book, The Maze Runner (in a day, it was that good!).  The book revolves around a boy named Thomas who wakes up in The Glade, along with 30 or so other boys.  No one can remember their past, where they came from, or any other personal information. But they believe they are being watched and the only way to get out of this bizarre world is to solve a maze, located just outside the doors of their new jungle-like home.

The Maze Runner kept my attention until the very. last. page. When I finished, I immediately set out of for the second book, The Scorch Trials.  I must know what happens next!

If you're looking for an easy to read, young adult series, you should definitely check this one out. (warning:  I just began the second book and it's a little more graphic than the first, quite like the Hunger Games, but still an intriguing read!)

Anyone read a good book lately to share??
I'm starting Cloud Atlas after this, then hoping to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Rock Climbing: Clear Creek Canyon

We ended the weekend with outdoor rock climbing near Clear Creek Canyon. It was a beautiful, sunny day so after climbing up 2 routes, I decided to lay in the sun and cheer on our friends.  I'm a better cheer leader than I am a climber anyway.

While I was laying on the rock below, I closed my eyes and listened to my surroundings.  Below me, a river flowing wildly, people clipping in out, which created this definite "click, click, click" sound, soft chatter, and loud "YES!" and "AMAZING JOB!" whenever someone surpassed a difficult spot on the wall.

I opened my eyes, looked around, and smiled.

I was surrounded by amazing scenery and a great community of people.  It's such a treat to only drive 30 minutes for a solid afternoon of (free) climbing among encouraging company.
